Participation in a Constellation Workshop offers three mutually inclusive options:

I. As an observer – You’re free to watch the work of others as the constellations unfold. For maximum benefit in this position it’s valuable to stay alert to any internal reactions you may have to what arises in the field and to remain willing to change your position if it seems appropriate to your needs.

II. In representation – Making yourself available as a representative in constellation means that you enter the field and take on a ‘role’ that invites a shift in your perception of yourself in service to the client. As a representative you’ll experience yourself and others in new ways that expands understanding and provides for personal growth. Deep insights into the nature of personal and collective conscience are often experienced at this level of participation.

III. As the client – Bringing an issue into the field and opening to the knowledge of the facilitator allows for hidden dynamics to come to light. In every life there are issues that derive from systemic entanglements not consciously acknowledged. Positive energy and the natural movement to wholeness may be blocked. Resolution and growth occur out of the simple act of seeing what was hidden before, with intervention of one experienced with systemic dynamics. A client may describe openly a particular issue or pursue the matter “blindly” with only the facilitator aware of relevant facts.

To enjoy maximum benefit you may want to consider the following suggestions before and during a workshop:

• Eat lightly and avoid toxins;
• Remain calm and centered;
• Dress casually for the workshop;
• Wait at least three days to discuss your experience, allowing for assimilation of new images;
• Allow participants the space and freedom to absorb their own experience;
• Respect the privacy of the clients and representatives, as will be explained further during each workshop.
